Curated by the Tokyo architects Maki and Associates and in close cooperation with the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin, it is showing the Making of the Reinhard Ernst Museum. On Friday evening, 13 May 2022, the opening of the exhibition took place in Berlin with an audience of experts from far and near. On this occasion, Japan’s Deputy Ambassador Hideo Suzuki also gave a speech; he acknowledged the commitment to the museum in Wiesbaden, but also the many international construction projects by the renowned architect Fumihiko Maki. In 2013, he was honoured in Japan for his particular cultural achievements.

As the chief architect of the Wiesbaden museum building, Michel van Ackere also arrived from Japan and brought greetings from the 93-year-old Fumihiko Maki. The latter had given him three pieces of advice.

Spring in Germany is asparagus season. Fumihiko Maki is an old friend and this is the second joint building project for them after their House of Hope in Japan.

We are happy to recommend a trip to the federal capital with a detour to the Aedes Architecture Forum. The exhibition can be seen until 29 June 2022.
