Gary Kamemoto visits Wiesbaden

 

Overview

Gary Kamemoto, the principal of the Maki and Associates and successor to Fumihiko Maki in this role, is coming to Wiesbaden: On Tuesday, 16th June 2026, he will offer a guided tour of the museum in English. On Wednesday, 17th June, he will give a lecture and present the anniversary volume ‘Maki Opus.’ The volume is being published to mark the 60th anniversary of Maki and Associates.

On 16th and 17th June 2026, shortly before the second anniversary of the Museum Reinhard Ernst, Gary Kamemoto, principal of the architecture firm Maki and Associates, will be visiting Wiesbaden. The successor to Fumihiko Maki lead a tour through the Museum on Tuesday, 16th June 2026 — a unique opportunity for professionals and architecture enthusiasts to experience the building through the eyes of the architect.

On the evening of Wednesday, 17th June 2026, Gary Kamemoto will give a lecture in English on the life’s work of the great Japanese architect. The Fumihiko Maki (1928–2024), winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, passed away in his 95th year, shortly before the opening of the Museum Reinhard Ernst, the only one of his ten museum buildings in Europe. The lavishly illustrated anniversary volume traces the impressive life and career of the architect, a master of Japanese modernist architecture.
