Join us – 1 year Museum Reinhard Ernst!

Don’t miss out when the museum celebrates its first anniversary! A varied programme for young and old awaits you.

  • Starting at 12 noon, Klangwelten featuring Tobias Rüger on saxophone will create a festive atmosphere.
  • 1:30/3:30 PM: Guided tour with curator Lea Schäfer (30 minutes), meeting point in front of the Maki Forum*
  • 12/2 PM: Our family-friendly tours – perfect for explorers and experts alike – put the museum’s spectacular architecture in the spotlight. (No registration required, limited to 20 participants)
  • To celebrate Architecture Day on this date, there will also be special tours and short talks – program coming soon!

In the Maki Forum, you can experience the multimedia side of our museum:

  • Browse selected books on art and architecture in our reading corner.
  • Watch fascinating videos about the Museum Reinhard Ernst on our large-format screen.
    • At 2 PM, do not miss the new ARTE documentary Painting Without Rules – American Women Artists of the Postwar Era, produced in conjunction with the temporary exhibition Helen Frankenthaler. Move and Make – a chance to delve deeper into the subject.

  • At 4 PM, a special highlight awaits: an architecture talk with museum founder Reinhard Ernst and structural engineer Prof Dr Ing Mark Fahlbusch, at the Maki Forum (this talk is held in German)*

Laughter Guaranteed:
Jakob Schwerdtfeger – known for his entertaining performances that blend art and comedy – takes the stage at 1 and 3 PM (this performance is in German)!*

After each performance, Schwerdtfeger will be signing copies of his book “Ich sehe was, was Du nicht siehst und das ist Kunst” (I see something that you don’t see and that is art), available in the museum shop.

Also:
The team from rue 1 by gollner’s will be providing refreshments, available at the bar in the museum foyer.
