Expressive sweeps of colour, as light as feathers. Created through a lengthy process which implied the detailed observation of objects and their subsequent abstraction onto paper or canvas.

Join us on a guided tour of our temporary exhibition and start the journey into the visual world and life of Wolfgang Hollegha! One of Austria’s most important painters after 1945, the mre has the pleasure to present his for the first time in a major monographic exhibition in Germany. From the Big Apple to the Rechberg in Austria, from retreating from society to getting closer to the visible. Wolfgang Hollegha’s abstract art tells of these very contemporary needs. Come and as the artist said: ‘Don’t think, look!’

This guided tour is conducted in German. Every Saturday and Sunday (3–4 p.m.)
